08 / Questions, answered
Practical answers about music distribution, royalties, rights and joining ONIMA.
Music distribution connects your recordings with streaming and digital platforms. It includes delivering audio, artwork and metadata, coordinating release information, and receiving platform reports. ONIMA combines these operational services with the rights, reporting and growth support agreed for your partnership.
ONIMA’s distribution network includes 150+ streaming and digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and TikTok. Destination availability depends on the release, territory, format and platform requirements. The team confirms the appropriate delivery plan during onboarding.
Yes. Music distribution for independent artists focuses on a clear release plan, consistent artist information and ongoing support. Record label distribution adds coordination across a roster, catalog and release schedule. ONIMA reviews each application before agreeing the services and commercial terms.
Distribution does not, by itself, transfer ownership of a recording. Your ONIMA agreement defines the rights you grant, the territories, the term and any exclusivity. Only submit music and artwork you own or have permission to distribute, and review the agreement before signing.
Platforms report recording revenue on their own schedules. ONIMA Portal provides available estimated Spotify and YouTube revenue with daily updates; these estimates can change. Finalized amounts are shown in monthly reports. Payment eligibility, deductions, revenue shares and payout arrangements are defined in your agreement. Publishing royalties are a separate revenue stream.
ONIMA assesses the catalog, required services and partnership fit before agreeing commercial terms. Your proposal sets out the applicable fees or revenue share and the work included. Paid campaigns and additional creative services are scoped separately. Submit your catalog for a tailored discussion.
The team can review a transfer, including your current agreement, rights, ISRCs, UPCs and metadata. Platform matching and continuity depend on the details of each release and the receiving platform; stream counts or playlist positions cannot be guaranteed. Coordinate delivery and takedowns with both distributors rather than removing releases before a transfer plan is agreed.
No. YouTube music distribution and Content ID cover different work. Delivery makes recordings available through supported destinations; Content ID helps manage eligible uses of references on YouTube. Eligibility depends on your rights, the content and platform policies. ONIMA reviews eligibility and agrees the scope before enabling rights management.
No. Editorial decisions belong to the platforms, and campaign results vary. ONIMA can support eligible editorial pitches, release preparation and audience campaigns, including available Spotify tools. Eligibility, market availability and paid budgets are confirmed for each campaign.
Share your artist or label links, country, catalog size, current distributor, release plans and goals. For onboarding, be ready to provide audio, artwork, artist and contributor information, identifiers where available, and documentation of the rights you control. An application is reviewed before a partnership is offered.
Timing depends on the partnership review, signed agreement, rights checks, asset readiness and destination requirements. The team agrees a workable schedule after reviewing your catalog. Apply before your planned release date so there is time to prepare delivery and any eligible pre-release activity.
